Carrie Southern
Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction
Pilates Association Australia (PAA) Pilates Practitioner Member
Carrie has been teaching Pilates-based movement since 2016, and is a self-confessed movement nerd.
Movement is at the centre of Carrieās life. She has a background in contemporary dance, horse riding, climbing, bushwalking and trail running. She is no stranger to injury, and has found the Pilates method a sustainable movement practice to build and maintain whole-body strength and flexibility, develop greater mind-body awareness, and offer continuous challenge and enjoyment.
Carrie is committed to ongoing professional development. She has completed a foundational workshop in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at Justice Resource Institute (JRI), and regularly attends Pilates and movement science workshops and courses.
She has created a safe and welcoming studio, that is open to anyone interested in exploring movement. Her move away from a career as an environmental planner has provided her the space and time to offer thoughtful, personalised movement classes.
